VF5 Media

This game looks soooooooo good. To bad about the lack of any planned Online features (for the console ports) but it doesn't change the fact that this game will look fantastic.

Sounds like juggle combos are still in with the new low-unbreakable walls. Glad to hear it.

There might be online features. RTFA.

On what hardware is this running?

Their latest arcade board, Lindbergh. Some people think it has a NVIDIA 6800 class GPU, some people think it's a 7800 class GPU... With a Pentium 4. And lots of RAM.

I really hope they add online features for the console(s). I don't care how basic it is, as long as you could play head-to-head against a real life opponent, I'll be satisfied. I stopped playing VF4 two months after its release due to the lack of competition (I'm never satisfied with AI when it comes to fighting games). The Tekken series is mainstream, so it's easier to find good opponent.

I understand the arcade scene may be profitable for Sega and Namco and don't want to take some of its arcade audiences by giving them a chance to do the same (or similar) experience(s) at the comfort of their home. But I really hope VF5, and the next Tekken and SC, features online play.

As much as I like VF series, I really wish next generation we will see real physics based fighting. Like real physics based balance, traction, momentum, etc.

This looks crazy, I just wish SEGA would release some nice HiQ videos (or even screens would satisfy me), so much detail is lost in these LowQ vids and screens.

I hope the 1UP rumour holds true, cuz this might be the first SEGA game I buy. ;)
On second thought, anyone know of VF4Evo made platinum?

Fight Night 3 ? Or maybe next gen games based on UFC or K1, etc ?

They did try traction in VF3, with different surfaces having different friction coefficient.

Balance and momentum are implemented in the gameplay of VF series more than in any similar 3D fighter, they are just exaggerated not real. From what I heard these aspects are more expanded in VF5. The character balance is effected depending on the angle of the attack, he/she received.

Yu Suzuki already confirmed they wont be going online with VF5 unfortunately. They're unable to maintain a constant 60fps with minimal lag over the network at this point in time so they ditched it entirely. Virtua Fighter is built on precision input by the frame and they felt compromising this quality would essentially make it a different game. You get the feeling that until they're able to get a near perfect translation online they wont do it at all.

Online is hinted. It seems there is a possibility to challenge people from different Arcade, though I suppose they will be testing this more, since its not on the test site at the moment.

Though it maybe my worst fear of the game, report suggested that the game has been slowed down. There is a possibility that fast execution moves that prohibit online play are slowed down. This will allow online play up to some distance at the expense of gameplay speed :(

AFAIK Yu Suzuki isn't doing VF5 (He is doing Psi Phi). I remember he said that in regard to VF4 though.

This game will be awesome! VF4Evo blew me away. It was so much 'more', so much deeper than Tekken. Online play would be great, but I'm sure I'll love this game with or without it anyway.

Maybe in the US. IIRC it was released at full price in EU.

Everyone seems to be out of stock, oh well.

As far as I know, Evo is at a budget price in EU, I got it at that price here in Scandinavia at least. A rare find these days though. . .

I want this. And I want it now.

Sega, port it to PS3 or X360, and I'll buy it. Maybe, I'll buy it twice, if there's an Evolution version too.
