Using 360 camera with Windows - possible?

Not sure if this is PC or console related. I'll let a mod move topic according to their discretion.

The "documentation" that came with the cam (if you can call the piece of paper that) states it works just by plugging in and searching windows update for the driver.

I never got it to work with XP and now Vista says there'sa compatibility error between the OS and camera.

Wth? Microsoft makes Vista. Microsoft makes the camera! How bloody hard can it be???

Anyone got this thing to work under windows? I'd be very interested in hearing how you did it..
Peace.

yes, the camera itself can be used on windows though i don't know how. what does the manual say about specific driver required?

edit: if you have vista you can use it on live messenger.

apart from wired headset i can't think of accessories that aren't supported on windows which is good thing

Well how come I get a failed to find driver error for something called "Xbox Security Method 3 (C) 2005 Microsoft Corporation. All Rights Reserved."? That security thing throws a really big wrench in all the works.

Camera refuses to work because of that missing driver and windows update can't find it either. :???:

Peace.

Im not 100% sure, but i think all X360 accessories that can be somehow plugged in (aka is using USB) to a pc works on Windows XP. Both the controllers and the HD-DVD and 360 Camera works. (or so i have been told)
