Triumph owns the spinners after the 3rd debate

I guess they could have discussed whether or not you could write with the ink, or perhaps discussed how it had to be ink in the picture and not anything remotely sexy.

But that would only have resulted in two extra unfunny posts.

Given that just about every topic around here goes directly off topic, it does seem to be just you.

Just accept reality you mean?

Yes, it would be nice, but come on, what exactly is "on topic" when discussing a squid squirting its ink into a fisherman's face?

Well, it's hentai and japanese porn in general, of course.

And the thread would have died... What the harm in that? I'm sure lots of people really love hentai, but missed the discussion because they hate squids.

I realize I'm the only one hoping for some kind of order in threads. I'll be quiet now.

I'm not saying that a threads shouldn't try to remain on topic, but there are thread subjects that don't really define a topic.

The squid thread was started by a picture of guy getting inked. It didn't set down any topic of discussion, people had to work with what they had. It's just that a lot of them apparently have demonic sex beasts in their set of possible things to use.

I believe serious posts should try to keep their topic, but there wasn't anything serious about getting an oceanic facial from a frightened squid.

I didn't single anybody out.

I just stated that there's somebody that needs to reform, or be gone.

Um, if that isn't singling out, then I don't know what is. You're just withholding the name of the person you're singling out, that's all.

And threaded forums like slashdot (or Ace's Hardware for that matter) suck like most any hierarchal way of cataloging things, in that they quickly get very hard to get an overview of what's being discussed. One can easily have the same topic discussed in many parallel threads within the same topic, it creates confusion, is redundant and generally just an awkward way of having a discussion.

I present exhibit A of threaded forums' suckyness: the windows registry...
