Wow, that DOES look very nice! Might be the first Tomb Raider I pick up for a long time... well, I need a PSP first... can't keep borrowing my sisters PSP :devilish:

It looks pretty good, and the console versions at least make it look like the gameplay will be competent. Unfortunately both this and the X360 version just got pushed back, as a result I'll prolly be picking this up for PC rather than PSP. Damn PSP late releases.

Looks fantastic.

I'm worried abit about the potentially horrible camera system if its implemented like previous console versions...

From the vids I've seen, the camera looks to be pretty tight. I also hear the controls are much imporved, but it looks like Lara still does that really irritating START*STOP thing when you're making subtle changes in direction.

Expecting AA on a handheld? Is there even any precedence for such a thing? I don't think I've heard of any PSP, DS, GBASP or any other portable game with AA.

Well, I've seen antialiasing on a Dell Axim and other MBX-equipped hardware. ;)

However, it's not just edge aliasing that stands out here, especially the first two screenshots show horrible texture aliasing. Do they even use mipmaps at all?

Don't know, I was just curious why anyone would expect AA on a game handheld when I never recalled it being expected (or used) ever. I can't see the screenshots at the moment (blocked where I am), so I can't really tell. I saw them briefly last night and I thought they looked good for being handheld on a relatively small screen (didn't look very closely though).

A Gripshift dev confirmed the title used FSAA, KAO Challengers also employs some form of AA.

The hardware accelerated X50v games could have image anti-aliasing, yet they have an even better solution with high resolution output. Playing the games at lower resolutions, AA is easily afforded.

Interesting... (what is KAO Challengers?)

A somewhat generic platformer that came out for the PSP in Europe a short while back. As you can see from the screenshots though, it's not bad looking, and quite crisp. Link

Come on, Lazy8s.

So now the features of X50v represent a 'staple of handheld graphics technology'?

You really do live on another planet, don't you... ;)

Pace setting performances are the basis of general expectations for graphics, and a higher definition image is important on the low resolution of handheld displays.
