"It was a CGI demo sped up from 5 FPS as you said. The development team did this because we could not make a demo of that calibur at 30-60 FPS on the hardware we had at the time. Now however, the team is working the game on PS3 alpha kits, and it is looking just as impressive as the demo, at 30 FPS. The game is still in the very early stages of development, and I expect that it will release with visuals that are just as impressive as those in the E3 demo. We are planning on showing in game footage before too long, and we can't wait to see the public's reaction to it. "

There were some interesting imperfections in it for a product of pure CGI (if that is what it was)

It could have been a directed cutscene with everything being pre processed.

Why should we need to shovel salt? I'd be disappointed if the next generation does not deliver a great leap forward that surpasses anything we've seen up to this point. To think that the next gaming experience will be inferior to what we've seen in E3 will be quite disappointing.

I really hope they aim for 60 fps or it'll be a miss for me, no matter how good it looks. :???:

I couldn't see anything in that thread to back up the legitimacy of the the email. Given that SCE's Phil Harrison has said quite a few times now that it was a CGI movie to PS3 spec; that CGI experts here have said that it displays techniques not possible in real time; that we know which CGI shop did the work; and that the sentence "It was a CGI demo sped up from 5 FPS as you said." is meaningless anyway; then I think it is reasonable to assume that the email was faked and that KZ at E3 was just a CGI demo.

This has been discussed numerous times before. No need to make another thread on an already tired subject.
