The Register carries Nvidia's debacle

Oh, I didn't expect that! I think ATi may even have a case, particularly where screensavers used nvidia screenshots to say that ATi was cheating. That would be a hard thing to make a mistake about. It would be easy to simply say that ATi was caught cheating based on the retoric and simply not mention anything about Nvidia but the use of the corrupted screen shots as if it were ATi doing that rendering. Certainly they would have had a difficult time mistaking just whom was doing the cheating. TechTV ought to set the record straight..... at least.

Exactly, I wouldn't be too happy to be blamed on Television for something they didn't even do.

I watched it, I couldn't believe it :?

Terry Markedon:

We did not see the show but have asked for a transcript of it. PS. did anyone happen to tape the show or anything?

Thanks, I hope doesn't just fade away. Those guys really need to get hit over the head with beer bottles or something.

Russ you asked the question in this thread, so I answered it here.

As for proof reading if I changed the wording in the least bit then I would no longer state that the persons whom I quited wrote it.

Do you understand?

Good.

Not that I don't believe ATI on the whole Quack/Quake issue, but the 'proof' you provided was pretty much saying, "They didn't do it because ATI said so!" I, for one, don't think ATI is guilty of cheating on this at all. And not because some employee from ATI said so, but because they released a driver set that not only fixed the image quality problem - they did so without a reduction in performance (which was the supposed accusation). In any case, if you plan on trying to convince somebody that ATI didn't do this in the future, you're going to need to do a lot better than: "A guy at ATI knows more than you, he said they didn't cheat, therefore they didn't cheat!"
