His wife should be happy. At least now she can get some from a man with a working penis

I'm sure she'll probably laugh about that someday...or not.

On that note, I think a lot of men with spinal injuries are still capable of achieving an erection.
I'm not sure someone with full-body paralysis like Reeve would be able to, and there would be a lot of other reasons why it wouldn't be a good idea, such as needing a respirator and being plugged full of tubes.

they are supposed to do something big on smallville soon becaues of this and there is big talk about welling playing superman in the future movies now .

I thought i was confirmed that the new Superman would never be "anyone who played Superman on TV series or played Jesus"....... Errr.....
Personally, i think, as gorgeous as he is, Welling is too young. I want a rougher edge to the new Superman movies, kinda like Kingdom Come (whoever hasn't read it, please make yourself a favour and read it, if you like comics). And an "older" Superman would be great for that.
Just my opinion.

I REALLY REALLY don't want the next superman to be the next SuperCharliesAnglesMan

Good Lord he died of heart failure from the consequences of an infected pressure wound?

Im a nurse and cant remember seeing a pressure wound in the last 3 years (it does occur but only in those very few patients who dont cooperate in their care). Much less an infected one. I would've thought he had the best care money could buy...

I thought the same thing and asked my wife, a nurse, about it. She said she wasn't surprised at all with his condition that he was getting bed sores despite whatever care he was receiving, and that the infection probably went after his heart valves.

I would've thought all manner of equipement would have been available to him to avoid something as basic as a pressure sore (there are very pricey pressure adjusting seats that can let one stay seated almost all day with little risk or in the same posture all night). But tho he meant to fight to live on to hopefully see a cure for his spine I can only surmise he badly neglected this part of his care. Maybe because he led such an active lifestyle and wouldnt let some things get in the way...

Told the nurses at work this and my sis doc and they were a bit surprised...

When they cast the role of the next Superman, he should be as close to the Superman everybody knows from the comics.
Not some skinny babyface teenager like in Smallville, but like l-b said someone a little older, with more "classic handsome looks" with well built body.
Too bad at least I can not come up with many names.
First name that comes in my mind is Eric Bana. I never saw Hulk, and I really haven't seen much of EB acting, only some pics from Hulk. While he may not have the best of looks, he might be suitable for Superman. On the other hand he was already Hulk, so he can't be Superman too.
Others... hmmm... no one really comes to my mind, except for some "actors" that I've seen in "films" that reguire no acting talent, but they do have the looks and bodies ;) too bad they cannot act.

As long as they don't cast someone like George Clooney.

If George Cloo... Bush is against the cell stem research, it makes perfect sense the Illuminati arranged this.

Didn't know him, so that doesn't affect me any way or other.
Millions of people die every day, why should I mourn over some celebrity.
It's tragic for those who were close to him, that I understand.
It's just that I don't feel "sad" when people die in accidents, disasters, wars, terrorist attacks... I might have feelings like "anger", "confusion" or "curiosity" because of the events that caused losses of lives, but I've never felt sad for them

Well...sometimes some people take on a kind of persona of a symbol or a representation of struggle, goal, or ideal. In that regard I'm saddened by Reeve's passing. For me he symbolised the struggle against the odds and I wish his family the best.

Oh so the suffering and struggle of thousands of people who had the same thing happen to them before him were meaningless until it happened to mister celebrity?
I find that very funny and pathetic

This is almost too pathetic for words. The poor guy was crippled by a terrible accident, then he used his media profile for the good of others by highlighting the trauma him and thousands of others suffer, leading to greater understanding of the condition and more funding being directed to research something that many scientists simply weren't interested in.

He spent the later part of his life doing nothing but campaigning to get people to recognise this condition, then you bash him because he has a high media profile and people didn't notice the condition until someone told them about it.

Congratulations, you're an idiot who is being cynical for cynical's sake.

What next? Mother Teresa was a selfish old hag because she dared to get media attention when there are plenty of others helping people without said attention?

i think what he's saying is that he didn't care about the condition until it happened to HIM. Just like people who dont give a rats ass about finding a cure for aids but then they get it and suddenly its the most important thing ni the world.

either way, i dont care. only ever saw the original superman movie and it sucked, never read the comics. i think the whole concept is just dumb. actually, i think all superheros (except for THe Tick) are stupid. Can't stand them. Don't like comic books either. Well, there are some from Japan that I've seen that I rather "enjoyed" ;) but those didnt have any superheros in them

People who attack Reeve need to look in the mirror and ask themselves what they've done for the world.

hey I'm not atacking him, I'm just clarifying what the other guy is saying.

my only opinion on the whole matter is that I don't care who is the next superman 'cause I dont like Superman anyhow. I never understood what is so great about superman...
