Unless the rumor is true that RD580 has an onboard compositing chip.

Some ATI people claim there is something good coming from ATI soon but i dont know what, maybe this is it ? It was said in a thread about the DFI crossfire board.

ATI has said something about every board being ready for Crossfire this time, but what that means is open to interpretation.

They could still marketh both, so that if you use a mainboard from nvidia or intel, you have to get a CF master card, and if you get the RD580 you can go with 2 normal cards.

This isn't really CrossFire 2 news, but there will be a Mobile CrossFire coming towards us. For AMD platform the RD580 chipset will be used, for Intel the RD600 will be used. An optional module can be connected which doesn't need the external connector.
