Sony's ReRAM plans - what can and can't ReRAM bring to a console? *spawn

Doesn't this add weight to a cache memory system?

https://respawnfirst.com/details-what-changes-with-ps5-game-invites-system/
  • Launching occurs without user intervention at the invitee computer device
  • Invitee console will show a gaming session launch window associated with the launching, based on the invitation
  • Invitee console will display the window as a picture-in-picture if other game processes or apps are running
  • The game will launch as a background process
  • Launching is occurring automatically with one or more applications are running in the foreground on invitee computing device
The game launching in the background means the game is being unpacked or decompressed to the cache memory ready to be read in a second upon switching?

Oh ok. That's where the difference lies. Can you take a look at this then.

What's the new bottleneck with regards to load times?

Do you not agree to this?

We have been talking about less compression or better algorithm to take advantage of the ratio and speed, or better yet no compression at all. But it was suggested that storage space will be a problem.

That’s still a memory issue. You have waste cpu performance on data movement just to provide data more efficiently to the cpu.
