Shenmue3 has been announced what fixes should there be?

top of my list:

1. the fricken lorrytruck driver control scheme not excuses with dual analog.

2. better modes of transport -- at least give us a bike!

3. less quicktime events.

4. would ryo change his wardrobe.

bonus:

multi language tracks (yes I am subbs whore)

a little for diversification in the plot line.

more minigames.

did I miss anything?

Pick up the pacing, more fights, and I know its a pipedream, but move away from cliche' Kung Fu lore?

it will include all previouse chapters and close the serie (before they run out of cash  ). it is not known if the art assest will be updated for 1+2 (chapters1-4 I thnk).

although no platform has been annouced, I think we can asssume an Xbox version will be in there.

I think it will be multiplatform.

If it was Xbox only, I don't see why would they include first two parts of the game.

I'm also still not sure if Shenmue 3 is actually OK-ed by Sega, or if it's development is still just wishfull thinking of people who are supposed to make it.

Third time lucky ?

My only request, is to END it.

Is this official though ? Sega has been restructuring and stuff, how does this fit in ?

Selecting XBox after the poor sales of the first ShenMue published on it would be a poor move from SEGA.

Better make it multi platform to get as much money as possible.

A lot of SEGA fans are now on the NINTENDO boat, I for example, and I would appreciate to play ShenMue 3.
(I've the two first on my DC)

Perhaps it'll be a next gen system launch title, and with a larger storage capacity will be able to hold all three games on one disc?

I'd be happy to play this legendary title on my humble gamecube so I can see for myself what it's all about. Hope Sega releases it for my platform!

Okay, I could do with a PS2 version also, it doesn't really matter...

Still have a sneaking suspicion it will be XB-only though, but I guess one can only hope. There's the chance we'll see a working XB emu for PCs one day, maybe then I get to play it...

I would love to get it on my gamecube but I believe the game cube discs are 1.2 gigs and the dc discs were 1 gig. So making a game with 3 discs I don't think will happen. They seem to draw the line at 2 for the cube.

If its easy to port it to the ps2 and cube then i think we will see it. I know sega will want to make as much money off this as possible. But mabye it will be a launch tittle for the xbox2. I think this would allow sega the most profit .

Now hear me out on this. Yes the ps2 has a huge installed base. The biggest games on it sell a couple million copys (1-4 million) But shenmue 3 will not be a big tittle on the ps2.

On the xbox 2 it will be one of few tittles out at launch (or even ps3 or cube 2) The first two having been ported to the xbox will easily work on the xbox2. And it wont have to much to go upagainst at a lunch. You'd also get 3 games for the price of 1 which should help it even more at launch.

GC GODs are 1.4GB I believe. They might also use better compression to fit Schmenue 1+2 on the same GOD (might work, since GODs are bigger than the gigadiscs used on DC, and maybe not all the disc was used for the original DC games?), or something like that.

I dunno if it's possible, maybe the small size of the GOD will keep Schmenue3 off the GC, but I'm allowed to dream right? :)

Shenmue I alone came on 3 GDROMs, 4 if you count the bonus disc so if you include both Shenmue I&II with III, you're looking at a lot of discs

Hehe, okay, then that is settled... We won't see Schmenue on GC.:LOL::LOL::LOL:

Pity though. I like Nintendo's controller better than Sony's. :)

Shenmue 1&2 can be done on GC disks. If games like RE4/0 can be done then S1&2 surely are possible. It is not as if they will copy and paste Shenmue DC code on GC disks....and BTW didn't GC get Splinter Cell...doesn't it get multiplayer games....this storage thing doesnt make any sense.

If you had played shenmue you'd know that no other game really compares to it . Its actually much much bigger than any other games out . Bigger than the finaly fantsys . Bigger than prob even kotor. Its about 9 gigs big . That is part 1 . The second one is just as big . So 3 games thats big (if the 3rd is not even bigger) Will take alot of room

You didnt do your maths right :D

S1 on DC was 3 GDs, and 3 GDs = 3 GBs
S2 (I have no idea)

so how is it around 9 GBs?? BTW, even both games will not be bigger than an average PS2/XB game (single layered DVD).

I am not saying that they can be fit in GC ODs as it is. Obviously they will have to employ the same technique they employed for game ports like SC (SC on XB/PS2 must have been huge games being on DVDs).

Shenmue 1 : 3GDs + passport (1GD)
Shenmue 2 : 4GDs

Now I realize that makes a lot of disks on the NGC...
Maybe with proper compression (assuming the DC version isn't compressed)...

Say Shenmue 3 is 4GB too... that makes 11GB of data... I don't think a DVD is enough, or two sides DVD maybe ?
