edit: anyone ponder the fact that by regurgitating Star Wars games, F5 can effectively slash their dev time by an order of magnitude, simply because of reusing art assets / inheireting them from ILM?

You'd think that would be the case, right? That LucasArts would provide art assets to the teams that have been licenses to work on games using the Star Wars Universe. But actually I believe you'll find that these teams have to recreate the wheel for themselves. It may be due to LA wanting to hold onto their IP or whatnot but afaik, LA does NOT provide art assets. At least though, the teams know what the end product should look like which is a time saver in and of itself.

If this is F5's project that's supposed to blow Halo 2 out of the water.. well, Julian's got some explaining to do ;)

Seriously though, it looks like the co-op will sell this game (assuming it exists), rather than the graphics (which are nice, but by no means "bitchin"). Glad to see F5 working on gameplay though.

If anything star wars is the one game that i can keep replaying. Destroying the deathstar never gets old. Now some other games need to be put to rest.

Hey the first movie i ever remember seeing when i was 4 years old in the thearter was star wars return of the jedi. Thats why to me it will never get old. Square rpgs got old real fast for me . I bought my 32x only for the star wars game and i was going to buy the new sega star wars arcade for my basement.

Yeah that's why i only said *u r unbelievable* instead of something worse... i mean tastes are tastes, but jesus it REALLY seems like anything with Sony written on it is a POS to u.... REALLY... i know that that is not that case, but that's the impression u give.... and i know u have every single console ever released and whatever else, but i'm only saying what i see....
and the fact that u r a moderator doesn't help the fact that to me u r not very objective most of the time....
then put on top of it that i'm a drama queen myself and there u have it

I played this one a lot on the Atari with my friends, trying to capture the thrill from the movie's action scenes. The ship you control isn't very agile, so having to swoop in and take out that weak spot on the enemies (marked by the differently-colored square) leads to some stressful moments.

See as i have explained to others there is just a blind force of sony fans on this forum. They expect to say something and not be questioned. as you can see in other threads I have used proof of thiers against them. They don't seem to like that very much. In these threads its very much up to the opinion of the person viewing the game. I was never told when i became a mod that i couldn't have my own opinion. Sometimes what i say is radical and many people don't want to hear it but it doesn't take away from the fact that sometimes it needs to be said. That doesn't mean I'm free from making mistakes. Everytime I've made a mistake i have admited it. I have also never used my mod powers in a wrong way. There fore i blieve i've been a good mod.

NOT TO WORRY... i only said what i see... never questioned ur opinions... never said u're a bad mod

They still have their OWN assets from Rogue Leader, though.

And remember that the ship models in RL were taken directly from ILM's Star Wars Special Edition remake where possible, for authenticity.

Why? He never made that claim.

Also, why don't you wait for actual Halo 2 gameplay screens before making stupid comments like that?

> rather than the graphics

RL is still one of the best looking games to this date and this one clearly surpasses it.

jvd:

You won't be doing that in this game though (except in multiplayer).

Common misconception but no. Every model is done by Factor 5.

Will someone ban him already?

Well that's not what we're talking about though. We're talking about LA handing over their assets over to a licensee.

Hmm, well I can tell you that when I spoke to a modeller on SWG (a couple of years ago mind you), he was recreating a Star Destroyer.

jvd dude you have used proof and accepted that you were wrong in its interpretation as well.

PS2 is great.. It sells more than any other console by a long way. It is a force to be reckoned with. It is also full of crap games too and some really great ones.

Every console has its plus and minus points. What's the point of defending/attacking a lump of silicon and plastic?
