Yeah. All they do is copy trends. And like Dusk Golem has already pointed out, Capcom likes to do everything in threes.
They killed the original wave of RE once you could start buying bazookas and healing items from a stupid looking vendor, who just shows up out of nowhere. In the prior games, you obviously had to find these things by exploring the locations you ended up going to. And then they made out you could stun the enemies and do suplexes, roundhouse kicks and all that, which just removed the tension that games such as the 2002 remake had offered up.
