My brother just got one of these and i noticed it has a floppy power connector on the right hand side of the board.

Ive never noticed this in pics and i can;t remember it bing mentioned in a review anywhere? Is it just for motherboards that might have problems powering the card or do i have to connect it to the power connector anyway?

He has an abit bd7-2 motherboard, a pentium 4 2.4(b)ghz and a 400watt antec psu.

Hrm, I'd give that a "WTF".

And maybe write ATi an email, saying WTF in a more euphmistic fashion.

Its probably a daughtercard or connector for a potential daughtercard that never surfaced. Its not a floppy connector though, that makes no sense.
Just ignore it.

He said floppy power conector. Just like the 9700 has. I would also recomend sending an email to ATI about it. Oh, and don't connect anything to it until you know for sure what it is :)
