Someone sent me a link to a decent PNG compression util once, but I didn't take up on it - anyone know of one?

Probably it was me.
Check PngOut by Ken Silverman (Build engine anyone?), that is also listed in second link epicstruggle posted.

If you work with truecolor image (that's probably the case, for game/app screenshots), remeber the "/C2" switch to remove the unnecessary alpha channel infos.

Wow that's pretty effective. Tried OptiPNG with a desktop screenshot and had an reduction of 33% in size compared to the Paint saved png. Didn't know that there was such a big difference between compressors.

Edit: I can imagine this could save quite a big deal of bandwidth.
