I had a Surface Pro 4 with the i7 & EDRAM for about a year and had Throttlestop undervolting that to the limit. I used 3Dmark06/Vantage loops to test the IGP and CPU stability. But it was pretty pointless. That thing just can't game well if the CPU and GPU are pegged. It throttles way down because of the 18W limit even if I had a fan blowing at it. Supreme Commander with its tendency to max out 2 cores and the GPU ran quite poor.
Right now I only have a big 17" ASUS G751JY with 980M and Haswell+EDRAM. Big, but it's so quiet when loaded and it runs so cool compared to other gamer notebooks. It does not have Optimus, which is a plus because Optimus has quirks. It's unfortunate that I hate the goofy edgy teenager aesthetic of the machine.
