Phenom II coolers

HM! I've had 80mm AC case fans that have held up for around 3 years (PC broke down before the fans did... :p), and a 120mm fan that ran for nearly 2 years 12-18 hours/day most days. No issues.

It's just law of statistics I guess; some people will stumble upon a bad egg repeatedly... I used ONLY Quantum and IBM/Hitachi HDDs for years, never had one fail on me ever. Yet I've met people who have had dismal luck with those brands and think they thoroughly suck... *shrug*

This is what I used to use when overclocking an Athlon X2 socket 939 CPU a while back... Well not the Rev.A version. I'm not sure what Rev.A changed. :p

Best thing was. It was able to overclock my old X2 to it's max overclock with NO FAN. The only airflow over it was from the exhaust fan at the rear of the caes.

Of course, if you really felt you needed a Fan, you could attach 1 or 2 120mm fans to it. 2x ultra low speed 120mm fans were still quite quiet and provided more than enough cooling even for the most demanding overclock. I think it still holds the record at Anandtech for air cooled overclock.

I love well designed tower heatsinks.

SB
