Oblivion Demonstration (Xbox360/PC)

Just listened to the conference call, they say Bethesda has requested additional development time...
where did u get acess to the call ? wouldn't mind listening to it (find all that crap interesting)

Anyway i think its just a dick move letting the fans know through a quarterly report .

It might not be delayed .

Take-two (who's press release this is ) is the european publisher. 2kgames is the american publisher .

So it may infact not be delayed for the usa . Though why one is pushed back and hte other is not is beyond me

Is the EU version going to need soundtracks for all languages? One assumes not, and the non-English speakers must make do wtih subtitles. But smelly. Probably help them learn a second language though!

As for Oblivion on PS3, I don't think it ws ever announced officially. It was announced for PC and next-gen, but no actual hardware named at first. Now when it was announced XB360 would get it and PS3 wouldn't, assumption was it was because Oblivion needs the HDD. Now we know that's not the case. Unless Oblivion runs really poorly without HDD, there's no technical reason I can see for the PS3 not to get the title. And if the engine is being ported to PS3 then Oblivion could make it's way too, especially as they've an extra 6 months or so to work on it. Though perhaps they dropped PS3 because they couldn't work out how to map their custom routines (Radiant AI) onto the SPE's?

If Oblivion doesn't make it's way to PS3 it'd be nice to hear why. Technical issues or business issues?

C'mon it's a PC game people - of course it got delayed. That's like the industry rule that will never be broken.

Ms offered them some extra money ?

Sony wanted high royalitys

The game will be over 6 months old by the time the ps3 is launched in oblivions target audiances ? Mabye they felt it be to old to port and would require to much work ?

Or perhaps we will see it in 2007 again on both systems with ps3 getting a bluray disc containing the game and its expansion and xbox owners getting a dvd release of the add on disc ?

Or the PS3 was too much of a pain in the ass to port it to.

MS waved the royalty fees in exchange for exclusivity. (Added to the 460 retail price this could mean big profits.)

Bethesda doesn't like Sony.

Sony doesn't like Bethesda.

Sony reps never finished Morrowind either.

Yep. Any of those. But it'd be nice to know which one, rather than just know what the possible reasons are.

now i'm wondering what i'm going to be playing this on .

I was going to go xbox 360 figuring it would have hdr and other effects and just generaly run better on it than on my athlon 64 socket 754 3000+ at 2.4 ghz with 2 gigs of ram and a x800xt pe .

But now if it doesn't come out till thier second quarter i might be running a dual athlon 64 4400+ 2 gigs of ram and a 512 meg r580

Just decide when the time comes, it's not like they are releasing them too far apart ;) .

They've been saying march 29th for weeks now for oblivion, so that's not news. Unless it's been pushed back even further of course, which actually would not surprise me.

When I first saw the first screens for this game, I was like "wow." But since then, everytime I see screens (old or new), it just doesn't have "it" anymore. Still a good looking game thougn.

I just find more and more things wrong with it. Thought it was cool in the beginning, now it's just "meh".

360 is very unimpressiv for me. :(

It must be sad for you guys to never be impressed by anything, so far the 360 has been great for me I'm really impressed and enjoy the 3 games I have for it. Been playing the Elder Scrolls series since 94 and no way I'm going to pass up Oblivion it look un freakin beleivable.

Also honestly who cares if it comes out for the PS3, if it does it won't be for a year from now at least, no way I'm waiting that long to play Oblivion.
