"Hans Mosesmann, an analyst with Prudential, wrote that he believed that the ATI R300, ATI Technology's next-generation chip, is now entering production.

"Furthermore, ATI's next gen GPU has been widely sampling for the past 2 months or so and our industry contacts indicate it is in production today," he wrote. Industry sources have also privately confirmed to ExtremeTech that the R300 is currently moving from sampling into production"

I hope Hans Mosesmann isn't a typo of Hans Moleman of 3dfxgamers fame. You never know. Here's hoping anyway.

Remembering the time when B3D was B3D and fansites were fansites.

"In production now" could still mean it's a month (or two) away from store shelves.

I remmember the ATI CEO saying something to the degree that the next cards to come from ATI will be available, meaning on the market, at the same time that they were announced. So what this means is that the R300 should be available to purchase right around the same time frame it is announced. If I can find the quote I will post it.

I don't know how accurate this is: For example, Hans' last comment on Nvidia had a bunch of inaccuracies and somewhat baseless assumptions.
