NV40 has a new architecture

..the NV40 ups the ante by adding a second shader unit to is pipelines. This means NV40 can run two shader programs on every pixel that passes through the pipeline.

You mean they are doing a preview of a Nvidia card that they haven't seen with all the information provided by Nvidia and it is wrong?

Wasn't it these guys (MAXIMUMpc) who posted the original NV30 benchmarks that showed the NV30 cleaning the floor with R300.

IIRC that was pctuning. ( Not sure though, must have been a bunch of 'em... )

Two parallel shader operations per pipeline instead of two pixel shader programs per pipeline ...

You should check the whole article. It's real fun. :D

NV30 did clean the floor with R300 with the settings that MaximumPC used though!

Quake 3 without AA and AF? Becaise that's what/how I'd play on my $400 card.

Don't forget that IQ was probably set to Agressive or Very Aggressive or "1 big polygon" Agressive

I never said those were good settings to actually use, but people here seem to be implying that numbers were completely made up or something.
