This might be a little off the subject, but I was wondering why Nvidia is not listed on Comdex.com as an exhibitor. They do not produce their own cards but surely they would have an exhibition booth there. Or could Nvidia be waiting for a sample NV30 board to be ready before committing to Comdex? I would really like some feedback on this.

Haven't looked at any info listing Comdex exhibitors...but doesn't exhibitor imply a booth? Could they hold a press conference or give a presentation somewhere without being listed? I'd think that would be listed separately.

Nothing to be worried about, though...everything seems to point pretty conclusively to us getting solid info during the show...

N0, they work out of a small , smokefilled room somewhere near the main hall..... I think it's the same room that Richard Nixon used during the 1968 elections.........

AFAIK NVIDIA may not be at Comdex, but they may have something in a hotal closeby.

nVidia pulled something similar at a major European conference earlier this year (forgot which conference exactly). They weren't officially announced by the conference managers until like a week before. Seems to be their MO.

Thats was ECTS. There were 'reasons' why it happened the way it did.

I thought if you added up all the French speakers in Guiana, the Caribean, West Africa, and Indochina you'd come up with more than 125,000,000. Oh, well.

Comdex boothes are prohibitively expensive. IBM boycotted Comdex one year because of this. My guess is Nvidia will hold a separate press event in a hotel, not on the comdex showfloor.

ATI, Matrox and the other videocard manufacturers do this all the time. While ATI launched the 9700 at a tech forum, it was held at a hotel not at the conference. It's actually easier to hold a conference off the main one, as you can control the number of people attending and do things like have break-out sessions for groups of people which wouldn't be so easy in the main convention hall. Shrug anyways, I hope to be at the launch :)
