Yes, I was talking about noisy mipmap boundaries, not the blooming.

Anyway, the MIP map arguments make a lot of sense, so it's probably not FP24 that's causing the noise. I guess it's just another example of ATI's shoddy MIP/aniso detection algorithm.

LOL! Well, one could always just use the same reasoning that NVidia uses for their tri-bi mix: it doesn't affect image quality. :rolleyes:
