New PC: Win or Mac?

Personally I'd go for a dual Opteron setup if you're looking for that kind of power yet want to play the very latest hot crazes in gaming (it's not as if there aren't ports of a lot of games for Mac, but later).

There are lots of ports on Mac but still its just a subset of PC games. If its power you are looking for obviously Macs are lagging this is no secret. And it has been that way for long time.
The main question should be how much power do you need and for what purpose ?
For benchmarking/gaming stick with wintel world.
For multiple cpu G5/Opterons.

Just remember multiple CPUs dont benefit so much for gaming and I remember there was some thread about it here on Beyond3D.

Do you mean Novatech as in www.novatech.co.uk? If so, I could not ascertain anything remarkable about the case design. Were those even original case designs?

Anyways, if sexy is what you're going after, I'd reccomend saving yourself a couple hundred and going for something like one of the Soltek QBic's with the mirrored front:

Or one of the MSI Mega series:

Yep that's the site. No, they aren't original designs (I don't think Novatech are big enough to start doing their own cases), but if it looks good, who ares? ;)

Soltek QBic's with the mirrored front:

Exactly the same as the Novatech Qubic, gotta admit if i was going for a cube, that's what I'd choose without a doubt. If just for it's looks.

PS: That machine seriously needs a black keyboard. :D

Thanks for asking, First and foremost i need a PC for my hobby-ish-istic use of 3D Studio Max and or Maya. Or any 3D rendered out there. Also do a lot of 2D photo imaging...

You got some pretty expensive hobbies ;)
but if you look at it for platform selection , you have actually ruled out Macs as 3D studio Max is not available for Macs.

For maya and 2D photo imaging Macs are pretty good. Some processing may not be as fast as on wintel PCs but you can actually get work done more efficiently on Macs.

Hehehe my best friend and flatmate is an architect so i learned how to use CAD systems and i've tought him how to use other 3D renderers for "hobby"... ;)

So i guess i'll just go for Win, screw it, too much hassle... Although i must say his 17" Powerbook (one of those silver ones) is COOL. to say the least...
