Nice! Wonder how many game modes they will put into this one, burnout2's only flaw is that it wasn't exactly feature rich. Or at least not as much as i wanted it to be... Still an amazing game...

So true.

Burnout II was a amazing game but it was too easy and too short, the replayable value of the game was low, so low that i didn't touch it, once the game finished...

Burnout II was short and easy, but I am still playing it, as it's mulitplayer modes are fun and very addicting. Plus my friends and I are trying to devaste each others records...

those shots i posted are from the xbox version

Sure about that? the reflections on the cars look like the PS2 version of B2, maybe a little bit better. B2 for Xbox had better reflections that this. And the textures look very much PS2 material, not that i'm complaining, i will buy this game as soon as i get my hands on a copy.

Also i believe they will concentrate on the PS2 version and the other consoles will only get "slightly better looking" ports, as is the case many times.

Those shots could be from any console. Personally i believe they are just antialiased dev kit shots (as bloody usual), which nullifies any argument on which console they're running on...

They are 99.9999% certain devkit shots. Criterion published mainly devkit shots before launching BO1 and BO2, don't see no reason why wouldn't they do the same now, especially as everybody else is doing it too.

A recent Edge magazine had a preview of BO3, and they said it was
(quote)the best looking racer on xbox, even though the preview build was running on a PS2(/quote)

I wonder if this game could've run on Dreamcast... Judging from the shots I say yes.
you're joking, right :?

I don't say it would run at the same quality (particle effects and such)...
But perhaps the game data would just be too much for the Dreamcast to handle...

There's no relying on ign or any other sites image archives.
If a game is releasing on multiple platforms, they do not bother which versions images they are showing, unless there is a drastic difference.
Moreso as the dev houses do not bother either, as the images released are from devkit stations.

That's a pointless debate. Any game can be run on any platform.
Exaggerated proof: Max Payne 2 runs on GBA ;)

:D

Have you ever played Burnout 2? or at least downloaded the 2 video from ign that ChryZ posted?

The burnout serie is really relying on "post processing" effects and particles.
It needs a lot of fillrate that Dreamcast could not deliver.
