Muscle twitches

Why does it happen? How can we stop it?

I've got this twitching eyelid for 2 days now. Is there a scientific explanation for muscle twitching? Or is it a sign from the heavens that something good or bad is about to befall me?

Meh. I get them occasionally too.

They go away, though they're really irritating when they happen.

I get exactly the same thing from time to time. Always my right eye. The only thing that I find that helps is more sleep and a mega B complex vitamin (with niacin).

Same here, left eye in my case. Seems to be linked to tiredness/exhaustion combined with spending too much time in front of a monitor/TV.

my grandma used to tell me when I was a little kid that the twitch was coz I had seen someone's bottom...

wrt how you can stop it... its a muscle spasm...usually occurs due to tiredness or related...

less coffee, more sleep and likely some form of lubrication for the eyes (ie drops) can help... if its REALLY bad a botox type injection will help because it will suppress signals from your nerves that tell your muscles to contract...

Plenty of sex is good. Don't know if it will help with the twitching eye, but it certainly gives you something else to think about! ;)
