Memory consumption in recent games

Probably even higher than that; I actualy had D3D10 GPUs in mind. I wouldn't expect a higher than average 30% or so performance increase from those coming refreshes compared to today's GPUs.

I agree to that; my brother is happily fragging away with his 9600XT, and the graphics still look great.
