GNU is a project to make free software with the ultimate goal to have a fully Free software OS and utilities. If that software is replaced it is not GNU anymore. It might be Free software and everything GNU worked for, but it is not GNU.

If you rewrite Coreutils in Rust, it’s still Coreutils. I also doubt they are going to replace all of Coreutils with a Rust version.

Yes, and musl is not glibc. Do you claim that musl is a GNU project as well?

People familiar with Ubuntu know this probably won’t happen lol. Remember when they were going to drop 32 bit completely back in like 2015? To this day it looks like they never did that lol.
