Lazy developers

I think devs more and more don't have much experience even playing PC games
Someone somewhere needs to fucking write a PC game development book for dummys.

Even something like HOR+ is not going to take significant time if it's taken into account during the initial design process, especially if it's simply not enabled in the console version. The dev spends a day putting in rudimentary support, the artist spends a day to include the hackiest fucking UI scaling which still ends up readable (which might even consist of straight scaling and thus no work for the artist at all). The dev handling the PC port can either debug it and ship it (ugly HOR+ is better than no HOR+) or polish it up ... but from a base which wasn't designed to exclude the concept completely. Hell it's not like consoles don't still have SDTV players, it's not like there is no benefit for the console dev to support proper scaling.

I personally will not throw money at something like DS with the attitude of those devs ...

Now put it in a book, have it written by someone with some reputation in the industry and give it a fancy name like multi-platform game anti-patterns ...
