This is the technical forum guys. This conversation really has nothing to do with the gaming technology of Tomb Raider.. and if I'm honest, I'd rather this forum not get infested with political discussions which could very easily spread everywhere else.

This thread will be locked because it’s headed into RSPC. And at the same time I’m not going to move it because it’s industry info.

They want to rebrand their game to be more like Indiana Jones and less like it was. They want her to be a hero instead of an anti hero.

There’s nothing wrong with a company making that type of choice. Disney also releases content in which they put warnings around that the cartoons are reflective of the times and not of the values of Disney today.

And the same can be said here. It does not make the game any worse for it.

It may not be the original designers hope, but unless he was designing Lara to be villian, the anti-hero vibe wasn’t all that strong for people to be attached to.

Even Han Solo became a hero in the end.
