Kitchen table or BowFlex?

I don't know if I mentioned, but I've turned into a bit of a lard-ass and me wife just bought a BowFlex in an effort to change that and it's coming Friday.

Problem: these things are NOT small and I'm a bit full-up in the house right now. My basement is still too much of a wreck and I don't think I can have it fixed up by Friday, so I'm right now debating whether I should move me kitchen table out of the way and just say "SCREW IT!" and put the thing in the middle of the kitchen where we would actually use it.

It's either that or the living room, but I'm not too sure I want me 4 & 6 year old playing with it. :?

exercise machines and timeshares scams one and the same. ;) Give it a week or two and youll get tired of it. I hope you bought a used bowflex, there are tons of those used for sale. Anyways, hope you get in shape.

I didn't buy it, my wife did....I would have bought a new computer or two instead.

I just have to figure out how to deal with it now. :?

Hrm, I have a bowflex. It gets used occasionally.

Strangely, I'm actually eyeing a 'crossbow platinum', which is the same thing, but with more gadgets.

The bowflex is alright, but it does have some annoying quirks (the resistance isn't constant--it changes based on how much you've flexed).

We're getting the Power Pro XTLU with some bells and whistles on it.

I would suggest going for a decent walk/run/cycle every second day. Weight training does very little in the way of getting your lungs and ticker back in shape. I don't know about you, but I'd rather have a heart that works well and puny muscles, instead of the opposite. :)

I got a stairmaster that I'm actually pretty good about using, the idea behind the bowflex is to get toned.

I think my wife is planning on me and her taking turns alternating 'tween the bowflex & the stairmaster, which actually don't seem like that bad of a work-out to me. :)

Place the bowflex, so that it faces the back of the stairmaster. :devilish: Youll get a good motivation to work out.

That 'bowflex' will make a fine clotheshorse (is that the correct word?) for hanging the laundry for drying.
That's what happened to my excercise machine after a few months of use.

It's more fun to go to the gym.

Kitchen table ! Kitchen table! Kitchen table! :D How's that for a ringing endorsement? I say if you need exercise just do it... And I dont mean buy overpriced Nike sneakers either. I mean why bore a hold in your wallet with one of those insanely priced exercise machines? But if you do need such I say goto a local health club. Nice place to socialize to boot. In case you need that too...

Nah, it will grow on u, i've been going to the gym for around 3 years now, and it took me a while to get used to it, with long pauses at the beginning, but now i go at least 2-3 times a week. The fact that i pay around £70 a month for it helps, it's a lot of money and i feel like i HAVE to go, if only to justify the cost... ;)

Oh and let's not forget the many weird positions u'll just HAVE to try with that thing, that's half the fun!! :D

Kitchen table or BowFlex
Sorry for this, but that subject has just made me think of the following...

A spritely 100 year old woman was being interviewed by a TV station about her history, and she said "I've never been sick in my life".

Amazed, the interviewer asks "Really? In 100 years, you've never been bedridden?"

"Of course I have, young man, and table-ended too, but you needn't put that in your report"

I probably shouldn't post this but for a high school report we had to interview one of our grandparents and ask what they did socially as teenagers back 'in their day'. So I'm talking to my paternal grandmother about it and she's telling me about how a date would pick her up in a horse-pulled wagon or buggy and they'd go in town to a dance or just drive around. This sounded incredibly boring to my, the proud owner of a '74 Camaro who tooled around to it blaring Jessie's Girl in the summer of '81, so I stressed the question, "But what did you do for fun?!" She looked at me and said, "What do you think? Skirts went up back then just as easily as they do now!"
