What I'd really hope for in a sequel is the sense of dark atmosphere that was so well conveyed in the first game. The announcer's voice and music played a big part in all of that.zurich said:Guden Oden said:What are you talking about? N64 KI2 was 32MB ROM at most, if that much even. 140 meg sounds more like the arcade version, and much of that, if not most, are movies and not actual game gfx data...zurich said:At one point I had an Ultra64 emulator with the original KI ROM (like 140 megs).
KI2 was cooler than KI (though I missed Riptor...), but the lack of the combo announcement voices sucked! I believe that feature was dropped just so the reviewers wouldn't bitch about the feature not being present on the N64!
Notice I said Ultra64, not Nintendo64, so yes - I was talking about the Arcade ROM set!
And KI2 sucked
I have that Ultra 64 emulator and both KI and KI2 ROMs. It's great being able to play them perfectly at home. Just wish the videos could be automatically run at normal speed.
Just use MAME and have a decently fast x86 CPU. MAME actually runs the original game code and sound code, whereas U64emu HLE's alot of the gameplay code and all of the sound code. MAME has proper speed for all of the videos, and doesn't crash on some fatalities.
