Import/Capture video from console to PC

I have been wondering if I can do this and I am not sure if I can and how.

I searched in health and support and it mentioned ways of importing video from other devices such as cameras but I am not sure if I can do it with my console.

My PC laso has an S-video plug (yellow hole for video) and I was wondering if that is also for video in not just video out.

Wether it's video in too or not, depends on your gfx card. If it's video in, you should be able to use it to capture vdeio from your console

There are also all in one devices out there like the Adaptec Gamebridge which can capture the video output composite/s-video only though. The device itself just connects to the PC via USB and the software will record into MPEG-2. Essentially an all in one solution as opposed to a a video capture card and using other software to record.

In case there is a video in how do I capture it??

You need an application which can read the data coming in from S-Video and record it. For example DScaler should be able to do this.

Wow that's pretty neat, considering the review says it can be had for $15. Cant wait till they get a hi def version, someday.

I downloaded DScaler and dont know how to get it to work. Any ideas?? I am currently trying to test it with a DVD player

Well if you don't have a TV tuner card or any other "addon" card with Video inputs, you can't see your DVD/VHS on your monitor.

And remember most graphics card have only tv-out not "tv-ins".

OMG, Dscaler is extremly disc hungry for saving videos.

Full PAL with uncompressed audio stereo 44khz/16bit - 23 sec of video is around 458MB.

I recommend using virtualdub as you can compress video directly with codecs installed on you machine.
