IGN PS2 staff prefer Halo 2 over Killzone

I guess it shows they are not idiot drones ready to hype up anything at all cost. Gives them some credibility. On the other hand, they seem quite impressed with KZ, although they think it doesn't match or exceed Halo 2.

seems fair. I didn't think killzone looked like a halo killer, and forza didn't look like a GT killer.

Killzone was playable at the show floor at E3. Single player mode was far into development (and quite good, apparently). Online mode was still very early and buggy. That's at least what I've heard from pretty much everyone who tried it.

Halo 2 was playable 'behind the closed doors', and reserved for the press with an appointment. Many didn't get to see it or play it, but some journalists from bigger media outlets apparently did. I think only the multiplayer mode was demonstrated this year.

I dislike whenever ANY game brands itself this-or-that-killer. It's up to me as a player to decide that, right? Also, games that are so similar that they're in the position to "kill" each other just means the latter is a lame copycat of the former, and thus never will kill it since plagiarism never pays. ;)

Thus it is fortunate Killzone isn't a copy of Halo, and thus isn't a "Halo killer". ;) I'll buy it, if for no other reason so I can put my router and PS2 network adapter to good use, haha!

Sony should publicise KZ more as it promises to be its flagship FPS for years to come. Many people still don't know about it. Infact more people know about "Enter the matrix" than KZ. Lets wait till games are out.

That's only to be expected, just like there are and there will be loads more ETM or DBZ or LOTR titles sold than any other "superior" game that is not based on a license.
