HDD Temperature

According to various manufacturers they have the temp threshold at 60 - 65c.

Using this info is it safe to assume anything under 40c is kosher?

I am wondering half for myself and half for everyone else that is wondering. My HDD temp is between 28 - 32c so i'm cool. 8) pun intended 8)
 
Unless your hard drive is wrapped in insulation the likelihood of it overheating isn't good. Just try to not stack HDDs on top of each other, in contact, in your case. Leave space between them. Many cases even have front fans that can line up with the HDDs and that will keep them nice and cool.

FYI, notebook HDDs often run near their operating temp, especially when defragging.
