Okay, it was 20 years ago today that QUAKE was first released, a remarkable anniversary for a remarkable game that helped propel the shooter genre into the present. This has me awash in memories of those days... writing down IP addresses for servers before QuakeSpy, complaining about LPBs, discovering the first modifications, and more. Happy birthday QUAKE, thanks for the memories,

I remember playing it for the first time on friends 486 DX4 120MHz! It was amazing and I spend most of time in game running first level from left to right and top to bottom! Later on I loaded Quake on my Amiga 1200 with Turbo card and finished whole game with average of 4 to 8 FPS (quality over quantity) :D
Good old times!
