GF8800 demos released

Thats a great start thanks for the link.

My first comment is the hair from behind ..... WOW.... that damn near (if not totally) looks photo real. !!

amazing

But we are going to have to wait a couple of years before the next gen nvidia model to have free flowing physics based hair. Do we not know anything about the geometry count or have any wireframe models to look at?

Why do we need to wait a few years, when the PhysX API used on the PS3's Cell can do physics-hair already?
Look at the "Heavy Rain" video:
http://www.ageia.com/physx/../flash/heavyrain.swf

I thought both NVIDIA and ATI claimed their physics solutions where way better than AGEIA's? :???:

The hair on that Heavy Rain tech demo video doesn't look as impressive or as sophisticated as in the previous NV tech demos, like in the mermaid one, for example. Also... does anyone remember the physics hair in 3DMark 2003's Trolls's Lair test?

Here's another example of face rendering in Crysis (these are images captured from the fly-over video):

Um I cant get the smoke demo to work.. it loads up the cmd prmpt and crashes shortly after.
The other two work great tho.
