Geforce4 MX420 or ATI Radeon 7500 ??

Hey guys, sorry for taking bandwith with such a trivial question, but I have a friend who wants to get alittle more speed in his PC, he ABSOLUTELY needs a DVI-connector, and he wants a cheap card.
Further on he has only a P-II 450 Mhz CPU, and the max resolution he can run is 1024x768, and I also think he clearly accepts cranking down the resolution to 800x600 or even 640x480 to get better FPS...... personally I´m leaning towards the GF4, cause hasn´t the GeForce boards always have had the best performance on kinda "slow" CPU:s ??

Any comments anyone ??

edit: ps. now he has an old ATI Rage 3d pro...can´t run anything almost.

If you want a GF4MX get at least the 440. The 420 has is just as slow as a GF2MX400 (it doesnt have DDR Ram)[/b]

Hands away from the GF4 MX 420! Take the Radeon 7500, it is faster (as fast as a MX440) and has more 3d features!

Also I think the Radeon 7500 is priced lower. Not only does it match the MX440 but if cost is a concern then the Radeon 7500 is a pretty good deal. 8)

There appears to be a hardware incompatability between the Geforce 4 MX and the Kt266a, anyone know more about this.
A buddy of mine (manager of Electronics Boutique) brought one home and couldn't get it to post, so he brought another card home this time a Leadtek and still no post.
The PC boots fine with his 8500, so its not the PC...he's running the same board as me the MSI K7T PRO 2 RU 266a :-?

I have encountered this as well. I've tested a GF4 MX440 with a Gigabyte GA-7VTXH+ with KT266A & it was a beepin' like crazy. I tested the same video card on a ECS K7S6A with SiS745 & no problems with that chipset. I have a Gigabyte GA-7VRXP with KT333 coming today & I'll give it a test as well.

Well he's not really a hardcore techie and my company used to do all his hardcore PC work like putting ram in  :p
So I thought he was just screwing up but it sounds like there is something definatley wrong ...I'll let him know.
