G4 10 Play

I just got done watching a program called 10 Play on G4 where they counted the highest selling games of all time. Their numbers seemed greatly exaggerated for their top game on the list. The top game on the list was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 with 300 million copies sold worldwide. Is it more or does that seem like way too many copies even across all the consoles and formats it was released on? They even said the series has sold over 425 million copies alone in the US. That seems like a load of BS, so where did they get their numbers from?

That doesn't sound right to me either... Edit: I checked G4's site and they didn't mention their source.

That's one copy for every four families on Earth. It's also larger than the worldwide install base of all consoles combined. They clearly meant 30 million.

300 million? um, wow they realy just made those numbers up then. That series of games hasn't sold that much combined.

I checked Activision's press release section of their site looking for a press release mentioning the 300 million figure and didn't find shit. The press releases only go back to 2002. I figured if it was true, they'd shout it from the rooftops, lol.

100 million psx's.....
40 million n64s....
10 million dreamcasts....
110 million gameboys.....

260 million there, and that's if one copy of thps2 was sold per system it could have been used on.
