Found a new place!!

LOL! I have the opposite problem, girls either don't notice me, or assume I'm gay and smile and don't really come near me. Girls have no Gaydar in halifax though, seriously. I could be out in those clothes from the picture, something really quite boring imo stood at the bar and i'll get "excuse me, are you gay?". "No, sorry" By which point they're too embarrased and my pint has arrived, lol/

And it's in Finsbury Park, which is kinda cheap, compared to many other places around London...
Still, i'll have the big burden since i'm taking the biggest room with en-suite, the other 2 are doubles but slightly smaller...

Hey, I grew up there! In fact my parent's house is five minutes walk from the tube station, at Hornsey Rise, and it's not cheap anymore. With Islington and Angel going all up market, the house prices have pushed outwards into Finsbury Park.

What's happening is that a lot of people bought houses to rent out as an investment when the property market was bonkers, and now there is a lot of competition. Especially with recent mortgage rate rises, landlords *have* to have their rental places rented out in order to cover their second and third mortgages, so rental rates have dropped.

Still, if you're happy with the place and the cost, it's a decent place to live. You can get into town either by tube or bus in 15-30 minutes depending where you want to go, but it's still for the most part pretty residential, with some of that local village feel still around Seven Sisters, or it's just up the road to the bohemian cafe culture of places like Muswell Hill, Green Lanes, Angel, etc. Even Soho in the centre of town isn't really that far in terms of travel time.

The place i'm moving into is actually in a very nice residential area there, they closed off the streets from the main roads, so they're practically empty of traffic, and it's just very pretty. The only trouble is the station area and Seven Sisters Rd, where all the dodginess takes place, but other than that, it's great. And for the price, it's one gorgeous place at 2 mins from the station.
