I have got both of them as backups on my 2nd partition.
I'm looking forward to getting rid os SP1 because now I have SP2.

ALL Service packs are cumulative as far as I know, so you can always install over SP1. If you had a pure XP installation without any service packs there is no need to install SP1 first in other words.

SP2 offers so much more in terms of security so I'm encouraging everyone I know to put it in as soon as it becomes available on windows update. No need to let them mess with the 266 meg version :)

Make sure you back up anything precious though.
I had no problems on my computer but I just set up a brand
new machine for a customer with a slipstreamed sp2 disc and had nothing
but problems.(Files missing, registry errors, etc).

So I set it up with good old reliable SP1a instead and then proceeded to update it with SP2. Everything seemed to go fine until reboot, all I got was a blank screen. :? Tried doing a repair install, still no good. So it looks like I gotta stick with SP1A for now and download 30 or so updates from microsoft instead. :devilish:

NOT HAPPY MICROSOFT.

If I'm having troubles with it. What hope has Joe Average Home User got?
