If I remember correctly, the DX9 spec requires 24bit floating point precision, and this was presumably a major factor in why nvidia has been unable to secure WHQL cert thus far.
I just browsed through the nvidia site and noticed the new DetFXs claim to be WHQL certified for the GFFX series only (sounds like the first catalyst 3.0 release ). So, has anyone been able to check up on whether nvidia is truly running at 24bit, or have they been able to convince MS that it doesn't matter?
