CY: One particularly cool aspect we have been using recently is the unified input system, so you will be able to experience Crysis with the Xbox 360 controller on your living room TV attached to a high-end PC rig with D3D10. No console game will be able to stand in comparison against that.

There's an amazing new video with that Gamespot story as well, couple new screens.

Interesting, playing PC game with 360 controller? Maybe on 50" Plasma :)

See if they support the 360 controller fully, I'm all for it. I can just run a VGA out to the plasma and optical out to the receiver. After spending a ton of time on the Gears/COD3/RB6:Vegas, the controller feels almost as good as kb/mouse combo now and the added joy of playing on a big screen with full surround makes me a buyer! Plus I only have to run the game at 720P meaning I don't need to tax my system for my normal 1920x1200PC gaming. Can't wait :)

Though I am less accurate with a controller, I perfer using one from the couch and that is where I do most of my gaming be it though a PC or otherwise.

I can't feel particulary enthusiastic by this. Sure it's nice with variety for those who like it but for me I always play like crap with joypads in shooting games.

The limited turnrate and aiming precision with a pad would make it difficult for players in a PC game where enemies can often approach from many different directiosn and "snap turns" are commonly used.

Am I to assume they're "consolizing" the gameplay by deemphasizing the need for snap turning and precise aiming?

I wouldn't mind so much perhaps because I'm not a gaming ninja but more hardcore peole might get disappointed/upset.

Anyway I feel like I'm speculating so without more information maybe it's better if I just shut up.

Peace.

Sigh....

They are in now way "consolizing" this game. There's many games out there that support the Xbox 360 controller that are not dumbed down for its limited turning, etc. They are simply adding support for it, people who use the controller in multiplayer will still get owned, but that's not there fault. This is just for those really who could care less about how well they do and instead just want to play on their couch.

Though it should be noted only the wired version of the 360 controller is supported on PCs.

Also it could be added that Microsoft's Games for Windows requires that game supports 360's controller. So I would presume that most of the games released in 2007 support the pad. I'm all for it, because I do my gamings with a htpc connected to a 37" LCD.
