Creative 6600 6.1 or Monsoon MH505 5.1?

I have a nice gaming rig and I have just order an Audigy 2 platinum to be ready for Half-life 2 and other games that are coming.

I have read somewhere that DoomIII ahd hl2 will use 5.1 sound (they even say that maybe hl2 will support 6.1).

So Which is better? I know that the mh505 is way better than the 6600(or 6700), but it is 5.1 compare to 6.1 for the 6600. So for gaming, is it better to have great 5.1 or good 6.1? I don't want to have to change them 6 months from now.

I don't plan to use that for dvd because I already have an Home theater.

Are there any other speakers suggestions? The Yamaha TSS-1 maybe?

A great 5.1 will be much better than a good 6.1, and IMO a superb 4.1 bests both. I haven't been too impressed with Creative's speakers, (or Cambridge branded ones) and I can personally vouch that they are a safety risk, a satellite speaker cut me :LOL:
 
My brothers creative sub kinda blew up and melted too btw. :) Basically the fuse did not blow but melted the whole fuse, wire, and tape around it. He was able to replace it though and they work again.
