And there is no life sentence in Germany either. Well, there is, but it is never truly till the end. At least I know of no such cases.
Well this is a side note on life sentences, particularly in the case of those that murder for amusement. I am not addressing man slaughter and rather malicious killing.
It is not just having the members of a society support a person that left to their own devices would freely slaughter said members.
I do not believe in those sort of folks sitting on death row for 17years either. No I do not want them executed the day of the sentence. Some time should be allowed for review and error.
Other reasons I do favor capitol punishment in the cases of wanton murder or even in the cases of "serial killers"; they are out of the gene pool, they certainly can not do it again if they escape or are released early.
It is practical for a safer and more productive society. The decent are not sheep to be slaughtered and they are not expendable.
Preserving the life of the type of murderer I am describing seems to be making a statement that their life is some how more valid|valuable than that of their victim(s).
I do not believe we are moral, or enlightened protecting and sustaining these people for the rest of their lives, rather stupid.
