Build 2015

Watched the last 45 mins or so, dropped in during the Objective C part. Pretty impressed with a lot of what I saw.
 
Sorry for the blackout my wifi was totally borked in there. Lol the attendees were like they giving us hololens!! and then a big let down. But lol it's still cool. Hard to get that spot for registration hopefully I get my hololens demo.
 
And we have brought hundreds and hundreds of new hololens just for you. To try only for five minutes, you are not happy enought with the new ultrabook? really?
 
Win 2D API competes well with direct2D. Nearly the same performance wise though significantly less code required. C#. You can do some impressive things with fonts. I think just recalling making a 2D menu or something this is very preferable. You can also use this in conjunction with direct3D. Lol. I think people were expecting MS hardware. But I'm happy with a laptop! The game developer session is actually quite full
 
Hmm, as a WP user, I'm sadly excited, despite the fact I have absolutely no use for my phone with wireless input/output devices.


Oh and it seems to require a new Qualcomm processor that can drive two displays. Which basically means all existing phones aren't supported.
 
universal apps on Xbox one have less access to memory CPU and GPU. So essentially the design of the title in terms of performance needs to be limited. Full blown games should still follow the standard path. UWApps should be coming to SDK soon for everyone. I imagine later this year they haven't been entirely clear on it. Will attend session on XAML apps for Xbox One tomorrow.
 
I'll try to post more. Game developer slides were a rehash of gDC. And unity on universal apps was mainly a unity primer with a small section on UWP. Unity 5.2 is what you'll need to deploy universal unity apps.

The new web browser, previously codenamed Spartan, is now Microsoft Edge.

MultiAdaptor (multiple GPU on system) is the final last major feature. Being revealed today. I believe this is the node feature discovered by Dmrity. Witch demo from
SQENIX was running at 4K.

The GPU utilization demo on the game from China was done on a Nvidia 980. The utilization number is according to the 3D, not all queues.

The integrated unlinked demo uses a haswell GPU + Nvidia.
