AWS (1700 MHz UMTS) phone

There's a new cellphone carrier in Canada that uses the AWS band for their phones. I don't like the phones they carry. I'm looking for something small and slim, very basic. I just need a good pocket phone.

Any of you have a recommendation either from use with T-Mobile or on Wind in Canada?

Of course if you were lying when you said you wanted a basic phone this is £22 in the u.k pay as you go

I could do without everything except for the texts. I don't need a camera or any of those extras. I just need an address book for phone numbers and plain text messages.

Your phone needs seem really basic that you don't even seem to need UMTS (3G) service on it!

Get a (any) GSM phone, done.

I don't even understand the thread. Do you actually want any phone, as long as it's simple and cheap (as it seems now), or do you restrict yourself to a specific carrier/band (???) as the thread title implies?

I used to pursue simplicity as well, but these features really grow on you after a while. Eg I really like the calendar on my phone. I've found uses for the camera as well. If/when I buy another, I wouldn't want to lose either function.
