This forum is getting too bloody serious.

So, who will be the UK Christmas Number 1? I know who my vote's on...

Had to go for the popidol idiots. Hope it isn't, but it's almost impossible it won't....
Pop-idol attached singles always sell like 10 times as much as the rest fro the fact that everyone has seen them for months, they have received much more attention than anyone else, and therefore many more people will buy their records.

It's sad...

Did you hear Vick Beckhams new single? i mean.... WHY? WHYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!???
She doesn't need the money, she doen't need the publicity, she doesn't need ANYTHING, WHY does she have to do this to us!??!?!?!?!

I reckon it'll be the Poop-Idol crud as well, unfortunately.

I'm a Proper Bo fan of the Avid Merrion stuff and I like the 'Mad World' cover too.

The problem with the Darkness is that every one of their songs sounds the same and as for the lyrics: "don't let the bells end".

Do me a favour.

It's supposed to be a joke. Or a takin-the-piss-song... Or that's how they covered it

Don't know about u but his voice gives me a headache after a while, i mean i LOVED their single "i believe in a..." whatever its called, but i've had quite enough...

We should have more music-related threads on here, would make this place more fun. Had enough of politics talk with weirdos around here... :D

Yep, I realise that the Darkness like to do their 'tongue-in-cheek' stuff but there is only so far you can wedge the tongue into the cheek (no rude jokes, please 8)) and they've taken it as far as they should and then some.

But then, maybe I'm just a jaded old cynic.

As for Cliff's song, it's just about the same as every other Christmas song he's ever released as far as I can tell. Still, should keep the middle-aged ladies happy I suppose.

I'm lucky enough not to have heard Cliff's one yet, and hopefully the situation will last until Christmas day, then i'm flying off to Italy and by the time i'm back no one will even remember what the song was like, so i might be totally safe this year...

Unfortunately, I caught Cliff on TOTP2 today while having me tea. If anything it's worse than usual.

Yep - somehow, I'd be surprised if the item which tops Santa's List is "Peace on Earth" or somesuch sentiment. :devilish:

As if anyone cares about British pop. We've got Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake! Go U.S. Go! :p

p.s.: I have a certain love of Tears for Fears. hehe.

The rumour is that the Popstars have Flopstarred and it's now solidly between The Darkness and Mad World...
