- Got latest nF4 AMD drivers from nVidia (DFI LanParty UT nF4 Ultra-D because they apparently like BH-5's)
- Got Catalyst 6.2 (X1800 XL)
- Got MS .NET Framework 2.0 x64
- Got ATITool 0.25 b13
- Got WindowsXP x64 trial

What patches do I need for windows? I've heard so far about A64 processor driver, A64 patch for windows and dualcore patch for windows - anyone got links and know if they actually make things any different?
Anything else?

just the amd X64 driver for cool and quiet (amd.com obviously) and to set your power scheme to max saving.. just tell it not to turn off your hdd or go into standby and it will downclock it's self when not running full load.

Check out the following two threads, which are very useful:

How to install a dual-core processor - AMD forums.
and
Dual Core Gaming Fix Guide - [H] Forums.

What I did with my system was to install nForce 4 drivers, then install AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (exe) 1.2.2.2. You can also optionally install M$ hotfix mentioned here (read [H] thread for more details).

I've been very pleased with my 4200 X2 :) Personally, though, I wouldn't bother with XP 64 bit as it's probably more hassle than it's worth.
