And a friggin' 1lb copper heatsink that takes up about 3 PCI slots...

Seriously, I'm willing to bet he has some pretty hefty fans blowing on the card from elsewhere (i.e. from the taken PCI slots...).

Btw, I have that exact same heat sink on my Athlon. It generally keeps my CPU within a couple of degrees of the case (right now it's within 4 degrees C...which is rather high...). I would expect that that sucker, with just a case fan blowing from the used-up PCI slots, would provide much better cooling than pretty much any other video card cooler.

The only thing I'd be worrying about with that would be damaging the video card. With 1lb+ hanging on one side of it...well, I'd definitely want to have some other things supporting that heatsink. Owning one, I can tell you that it is a definite concern (the thing is meant to be screwed through the motherboard into the case...).

I used to mod my graphics cards...but after killing 3 of them in succession I decided it just wasn't worth it. Nice to see it works out better for other people.
