So, I need a 256mb stick of low-density ram for an ancient Compaq laptop that I'm gonna use as a VOIP box. Most of the current 144-pin SODIMM ram these days is all high-density stuff which, well, makes the box refuse to boot.

So, BUY.COM has a 256mb 144-pin low-density 32x64 SODIMM in-stock, and it's only $20. Great, so what's the shipping fee on this 1oz part? A staggering $31,498.09

Somehow, I don't think I'll be buying this particular item...

Actually, geeks is out of stock on that particular item. But even if they weren't, shipping error isn't on their behalf -- it's somewhere on Buy.Com's website. I sent their customer care a little ribbing to let them know that it probably ought to be fixed
