    Battlefield 4 Global illumination?

Caustics? ... but then again RT physically correct 60FPS Caustics might not be here yet let alone BF4 GI. :P

xbox1/ps4 - any basic level loading improvements?

With the bump in nexgen comes more data to load per level. Be it larger levels with more objects or higher res maps and more layers of maps (i.e. diffuse, spec, reflect, bump, normal, displace, tessellation...etc...etc..) What I'm curious about is how the new consoles will approach these...

    NVIDIA CG DEMO @ gtc2013

Nice for a single head on screen example. Not sure how much would be lost when trying to put that resource into a full level for a 1st/3rd person game for current/nex gen pc hardware. Heres the target back from the PS3 launch.

    Crysis 3

GT review is out. They like the game and dont think the 5-6hr playtime is an issue. Sucks that its so short.

Most realistic water rendering in game engines

Yep remember that one too. Went from awesome potential full release to sorta good download only version ... however apparently there was some update that supposedly improved it a lot. Also, Outcast ... f**k yeah.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain & Ground Zeroes

Reminds me a tiny bit of the sorta large levels of Project IGI and IGI 2. Ahh memories.

    Crytek Presents: CRYSIS 3 [PS3, 360]

Man I hope the final camera placement on the sniper zoom is closer to the ocular lens. I can understand they want to show off their flash modeling and blur effects on the Scope design but IMHO its just taking up too much real-estate and comes off distracting. When looking through a real scope...

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain & Ground Zeroes

Interesting, I guess we need to understand the scale and structure of the "open world" first. I'm sure others will give more examples but I've played very few "open world" or "sandbox" at games least with no loading if you exclude "fast travel". Saints Row 2 had no loading when exploring...

    Crysis 3

As per the link in the Console section ... more details of the tech behind the trailer. http://www.cgrecord.net/2012/08/cryengine3-tech-trailer.html I wonder how well this works and what happens to shadows and such around it since its not tessellation.

RAGE: That's actually what you do when trying to get the PC version to work

So I finished Rage and thoughts on Endings aside... I didnt realise how tight and awesome the mouse feel was until I started playing Deus Ex: HR afterwards. I dont know if its due to the horsepower required for either games or its just that Carmack is crazy about latency. Regardless of the...

Wii U hardware discussion and investigation *rename

Hey guys quick question. After E3 2012, any info if any games will be rendered at 1080p native rather than upscaled?

    Watch Dogs.

It looks quite cool. Kinda feels like GTA meets The Saboteur meets Deus Ex. It also looked like for a minute it might use CUDA PhysX, Cloth physics/animation on Jacket and how the guys jacket reacts to wind when going past the alley, however when he moves into the club with the dry ice smoke...

Reset - co-op FPP puzzle game

Information Reset is a single player co-op first person puzzle game being developed for PC by Theory Interactive Ltd. Maybe thats why it looks great? No "lowest common denominator" with regards to consoles.

    S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2

Current rumor is that its because Bethesda bought S2 rights? Not sure if thats a good or bad thing.

    Crysis 3

That trailer was a bit of a let down. Simply because its looking like level scale is closer to Crysis 2 than Crysis. Also the whole swampy, cool art study colours kinda made me miss the bright island imagery of C1. (but i guess its expected since they are staying in NYC...so far)
